The incredibly delicious onion cake recipe with homemade shortcrust pastry is easy to prepare and tastes particularly good with a mid-morning snack.

- 250 G wheat flour

- 1 prize salt
- 220 G sour cream
- 270 G Bacon cubes

Method:
- For the shortcrust pastry, knead the flour with the butter, egg, and salt in a bowl with the dough hook to form a dough. Shape the dough into a ball, wrap in cling film, and place in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, peel the onions and cut into fine rings. Then fry the bacon cubes in a pan for a few minutes before adding the onions. Fry these for about 5 minutes.
- For the topping, mix the fresh sour cream with the crème Fraiche, eggs, salt, pepper, and caraway seeds to a creamy glaze.
- Then roll out the cooled shortcrust pastry on a work surface dusted with flour and place in a springform pan greased with butter. Prick the bottom several times with a fork and form a small edge.
